Ella is based in North Saanich, BC, Canada. She holds two Master’s degrees — one in English Literature and Poetry, and
another in Documentary Filmmaking from Aix-Marseille University in France.

In 2014, she directed Air-Bel, a student documentary exploring the lives of children growing up in a housing project in
Marseille.

Spark Bird is her first short fiction film. Through this project, she wants to pay tribute to the rich natural beauty and wildlife of
Vancouver Island.
